Felixstowe Opportunity Group was founded in the early 1990s by a group of local mums who wanted a safe, welcoming space for their children with special needs. Over the decades, the group has evolved as the needs of families and the community have changed. In 2022, following the challenges of the pandemic, a new team stepped in to continue this vital work, ensuring that Felixstowe Opportunity Group (FOG) remained at the heart of the community. Today, we are proud to run a wide range of inclusive, supportive projects that reach children, families, and individuals of all ages.

Brave Futures is a children’s charity working throughout Suffolk and Norfolk, providing specialist support for children and young people up to the age of 18 who have experienced sexual abuse.

The Parish Pantry is a volunteer-led community food support service in Felixstowe, providing free food and essential items to individuals and families when they need a little extra help. It is open to everyone, without judgement, helping to reduce food poverty while preventing good food from going to waste.

Pitstop is a community-led project in Felixstowe providing free, practical support to individuals and families experiencing hardship. We offer clothing, baby essentials, school uniforms, toys, household items and other everyday necessities, while also connecting people with further support when needed. Our aim is simple: Providing Inclusive Targeted Support To Overcome Poverty.

Landguard Fort is a most astounding feat of architectural engineering. A place packed full of fascinating military history by design. Home to wonderful panoramic harbour views. A lost-in-time world full of discoveries, where the maze of rooms and tunnels tell their own stories alongside engaging exhibits. Landguard Fort doesn’t just have something for all ages and interests, it’s a great value invitation for everyone to share.
